The Sokoloff Charity Bestball Tournament is a fantasy football tournament with the goal of uniting the fantasy football community to make a positive impact by raising funds for various charitable causes. Instead of competing for a monetary prize, we compete for bragging rights and the 2024 SCBT Championship Title Belt.
Donations are collected and then distributed to different charities throughout the year. This year we are splitting the donations between a charity of the 2024 Champion’s choosing and Autism Speaks. We are dedicated to harnessing the enthusiasm surrounding fantasy football to raise funds for charitable causes, fostering a spirit of giving and camaraderie within the community. Together, we can make a positive difference in the world while enjoying the thrill of fantasy football.
Each division will be based on a 10-person bestball slow draft. Bestball in short means, after you complete the draft, you get to sit back and the app will do the rest. Each week your highest scoring lineup is automatically selected. There are NO waivers and NO trading. It’s fantasy football down to the core for a great cause. Do you have what it takes to be named the 2024 SCBT Champion?
Please respect the other players in your league and remember that this is all for fun and charity. While the goal of fantasy football is always to draft the best team possible and finish the season as the highest scorer, it is our mission to raise money for charities and grow the fantasy football community in the process.
The Sokoloff Charity Bestball Tournament has made a big effort on changing the traditional scoring for fantasy football bestball leagues and tournaments. We wanted to reward players for big plays. Please be sure to make note of some of the major differences below so that you are drafting your team accordingly.
The tournament playoffs will take the top 3-4 teams from each division based on TOTAL POINTS SCORED. Your overall record shown in your league will NOT determine overall tournament seeding, only TOTAL POINTS SCORED. This is why checking our SCBT Standings page or our social media pages for updated standings will be very important as the Sleeper app will not be able to show updated tournament standings, just your individual division.
Playoffs will start in week 15. Rosters are still submitted automatically based on the highest scoring lineup combination possible. At the end of week 15 the top 50% of playoff teams based on week 15 points scored will advance to the next round. At the end of week 16, we will do the same cuts as only the top 50% of remaining playoff teams advance to the championship round. In week 17 the highest scoring lineup will be crowned as the 2024 Sokoloff Charity Bestball Tournament Champion.
For the individual divisions on Sleeper, the top 6 teams will make the playoffs and will matter. Whoever wins each individual division will earn a special gift from the SCBT, but only the teams that remain qualified throughout the playoffs will count towards the overall tournament. There is a chance that a team wins the 2024 SCBT Championship but loses in their division on the Sleeper app. While this is not likely, it is possible.
